Name that Baby!

You will soon be taking your baby home with you!  One important thing that is often looked over when having a baby is the baby's name.  Follow the steps below and respond with the answers in a blog response.

1.  Using an internet search engine such as google search "How to name your baby" or something similar.  Write in your response at least 3 things you found.
2.  Choose a name for a boy and girl and list WHY you chose that name (family history?, etc.) and what the names mean.

  2. BOY NAMES _
    • Jordan Michael
    o Hebrew
     Descend; flow down

    GIRL NAMES_
    • Brooklyn Nicole
    o Dutch
     Uncertain

When naming your baby, you should think about how it sounds and compatibility. You could think of the uniqueness in the name. Relatives and friends could have names you like and you could name your child that. The ancestry and heritage in the name could be interesting and that’s why you named your child that. The meaning of the name could be” flow down” or “hero’s daughter”, the meaning of the name could be why you named your child that. You could have also named your child their name because of the initials and the nicknames you could have had for them.
My middle name is MiKayla because my dad calls me Mickey after my Grandma Mildred.

  3. Don't pick a name that would get your child made fun of later in life. A name really makes an impression on what people think about you; so you don't want your kid to have a tough time. Also choose a name that is classy and doesn't seem like it's too trendy; because trends fade and then the kid will have a difficult time. You also might want to choose a name that doesn't have very many syllables because then it won't be challenging for the kid to learn his name.

The name I would want for my boy to be is: Lebron James, to me that's a cute first and middle name to me. I like how it just sounds awesome; and not to mention the kid wouldn't ever get made fun of; having a name like the number 6 awesome basketball player on the Miami Heat.

For a girl name I would chose Jersey Jo; because the middle name is like mine, and I love the first name Jersey for a girl. Just sounds quite adorable for a woman.

  4. I want to name my baby Darwin if it is a boy. I picked that name because I met a kid in Nicaragua named Darwin and I want to honor him in some way. The name Darwin means "dear friend" which fits because the Darwin I know is a friend.

For a girl name, I think Lucy would work fine. A friend of mine suggested it and he was mad that he cant name my son "Aragorn" so he suggested Lucy. Lucy means "light" in Latin.

  8. I found that Ash is a good boys name. Ash will be my baby's name. The name Ashton or Ash is a very old English name. The meaning of the name is from the Ash tree.

I found that Ally is a good girls name. The name Ally is also a very old English name. The meaning of the name Ally is Friend or Partner

  9. Pay attention to what a name may mean, even if the meaning is obscure. The biblical name Helah, for example, actually means “rust.” In this age of the internet, any meanings will be dug up by your child’s middle school friends, so be sure to do a background check on names you are considering.

Using surnames as first names can be risky. People will never know if it's the child's first name or last name.

For my girl I would name her Emma Pamela it means the healing or the universe and Pamels because its my moms name. I just like this name because its cute. For a boy I would name him Connor Charles. Conner just because I like it and Charles after my dads name.
